First Wednesday Worship
West Hallam Methodist Church
7.30pm – 8.30pm All Are Welcome
You may have heard about this monthly meeting, here’s a little more information.
It was a God prompted meeting specifically for Praise and Worship. Hence the title. Its Ecumenical, before it was started, it was approved by both Methodist and Anglican Ministers Rev Dick Styles and Rev Simon White.
We have songs old and new, usually someone will introduce a song and share why its so meaningful to them. We have a testimony slot, an opportunity to share what God may be doing in a persons life. And we always have a time of open prayer.
For more information ask Anne or Joanne.
First Wednesday worship is a time where we can sit, wait, worship, pray and listen for the still small voice of God, away from the business of life. Sharing our stories, hopes, prayers and songs to bring healing, wholeness, and hope to everyone.

I have been attending this service since 2022 and I have felt included and welcome. I absolutely love the variations in the service each month. It is heart-warming to hear testimonies of others, and to pray for those here and abroad.
I feel very close to God during these services and supported by others attending.

I really look forward to 1st Wednesday Worship each month.
It is a good opportunity to worship together with sisters and brothers from other church traditions.
And to hear of what the Lord is doing in their lives and I always come home feeling refreshed and uplifted. Thanks to all who plan and lead our worship time .

First Wednesday Worship is prepared in prayer as we gather together to seek the Lord for what he wants for the meeting. We choose songs and scriptures which form the theme for the month. We sometimes ask people to choose a song and why it’s important to them.
Our meetings are filled with the love of God and his presence.

I love FWW for a number of reasons:
I have been welcomed, supported, and encouraged in the good times and the bad. When I have felt like turning away, when my anger, my fear, and my pain have got the better of me, FWW has been my lifeline. God is so much bigger than me and won’t ever let me go.
I love the worship time. The music invites me to tune into God and to focus just on him (even when I don’t know the songs).
I love the quiet time. There is something about being with other people who are simply luxuriating in the light of God’s love.
And I love the sharing time. Hearing about how God is really working in people’s lives is such an encouragement especially when I’m struggling with doubt and have so many questions that have no answers.
Ultimately, FWW keeps me grounded, and connected to God in this season of uncertainty.
